Nominations for new ISOCARD Executive Committee (EC) members - DEADLINE: Oct 10, 2026

Dear ISOCARD Members and Camelid Scientists,

 On behalf of the International Society of Camelid Research and Development (ISOCARD), we are pleased to invite eligible members to submit nominations for the election of the new ISOCARD Executive Committee (EC) for the 2026–2029 term. The election will take place during an online ISOCARD General Assembly only accessible to active (membership fee paid!) ISOCARD members, on October 17th. The invitation link is sent to active members per email.

ISOCARD is seeking to attract four new EC members who meet the following selection criteria:

 a. Active membership, the candidate must hold current ISOCARD membership in good standing for at least three years (Since the 6th International Conference held in the KSA).

 b. Scientific credentials, requiring a PhD, and a proven academic or professional excellence with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications in the fields of camelid research.
 c. Society Engagement, demonstrated commitments through involvement in the society initiative, such as organising conferences or serving on sub-committees.
 d. Leadership, experience in strategic planning and recognised for scientific achievements in the field.
 e. Diversity and inclusion, our society is actively seek a balanced geographic representation, varied sub-discipline expertise/specialisation, and a mix of early carrier and senior researchers.


In accordance with the ISOCARD Constitution, members wishing to stand for election are invited to submit their nomination to the Secretary General. Nominees are kindly requested to submit the following:

  • A nomination form signed by the nominee (In attachment);
  • A brief curriculum vitae (maximum 3 pages);
  • A short Statement of Intent (max 400 words), outlining their motivation experience, and how they would contribute to the development of ISOCARD;
  • Executive Bio (max 200 words); Note the short Bio will be made available to ISOCARD voting members on the ISOCARD website ahead of the conference. 

Please note that, according to the ISOCARD Constitution, all candidates and voters must be current ISOCARD members. The election will be conducted by secret ballot during the General Assembly, unless the number of valid nominations equals the number of available positions. The Constitution also ensures international representation by encouraging one representative per country and reserving one Executive Committee position for a representative of South American camelids.
